Paper mill: a $17 million precast project, 350 miles from the plant

A major structural precast supplier needed its interests protected on a large, complex paper mill project far from home. We provided full-time on-site representation for the producer and its erection subcontractor, including close coordination with Baker Concrete, the cast-in-place contractor.

Architectural precast

The Ohio State University

For an architectural precast producer on a unique campus project, we advised the New York–based architect on color, finish, and texture, and refined the original design to fit precast production limits. We also designed and procured custom formwork and provided on-site project management.

Plant design

New precast plant in Texas

We were brought on to support a new greenfield precast concrete manufacturing plant in Texas. Our work covered market research, business strategy, conceptual facility design, equipment recommendations, pre-construction services, and digital marketing and market development.

Market expansion

Exporting precast to the U.S.

An established Mexican precast company wanted to know whether it could compete for sales in the United States. We prepared a market study and introduced the company to potential buyers. The client concluded the U.S. market was viable and entered it right away.

Market expansion

Deeper into the Midwest

A Mexico City architectural precast producer was weighing a push further into the U.S. market. We managed the analysis of the opportunity. After reviewing our study, the client decided it would not be profitable at that time. Sometimes the most valuable answer is “not yet.”

Product development

Corrosion-resistant liner for manholes and tanks

Seaman Corporation, an Ohio specialty coated-fabric company, saw a new use for one of its products. We provided product development from concept through patent, including rapid prototyping, field trials, branding and marketing, and a major role in the website launch for the XR Quikliner.

Product development

Live-fire shoot house for the military

A specialized military contractor needed a solution no one else had. We took a new precast product from concept to patent, letting the client offer an advanced live-fire shoot house design that its competitors could not, in the U.S. and overseas.

Product launch

Wall panel to foundation connection

The inventor of a patented wall-panel-to-foundation connection device asked us to guide its launch into the PCI architectural and structural wall panel market. We helped source a website developer, reviewed digital and print marketing, developed the trade show booth strategy, and made strategic client introductions.

Market expansion

New steel micro-fiber technology

A maker of corrosion-resistant reinforcing fiber introduced its product to new customers through our industry network. We also arranged laboratory testing and precast product feasibility analysis. The product was accepted as a replacement for conventional rebar and wire mesh in cast-in-place and precast applications.
