Reinforcement
STEELX Rebar
Twisted steel micro-rebar that engages the concrete before a crack forms.
STEELX Rebar is based on a technology invented in the USA more than 20 years ago, now generally known as twisted steel rebar.
Because each piece is twisted along its length, STEELX engages the concrete matrix before a dominant crack forms, improving first-crack strength (MOR). After cracking, it has to untwist to pull out, which gives stable post-crack capacity.
What STEELX adds to ordinary concrete
- Higher MOR, or first-crack strength
- Less shrinkage and temperature cracking
- Tension and shear reinforcement in structural concrete
Why use it with, or instead of, rebar, mesh, or other fibers
Safety
Rebar and welded wire mesh cause many jobsite injuries every year. Less rebar means a safer site.
Speed
No placement labor, placement errors, or inspection delays, and trucks can tailgate the pour.
Quality
It resists cracking at microscopic, watertight widths, before cracks are visible.
